Guy Kawasaki offers some excellent advice for students, focusing on ten things they can learn at school. I try to share my professional experience with my students, in order to prepare them for the dynamic business world they will soon be entering. I do notice, though, that the focus in academia tends to be weighted heavier on theory than practice. Why is this? Most professors have spent their entire careers in the world of theory, research and scholarship. It's no wonder they focus on these areas. Nor is it a bad thing because students need a balance. The key is integrating theory and practice.
